Back in the day, when you wanted to find out more about coulrophobia, for example, you had to look up that word in a dictionary or in an encyclopedia; or you could go and look it up in a book at the library. Thus you would find out that coulrophobia is the fear of clowns. Nowadays, you can just fire up your browser and look up info on coulrophobia online.

The great thing about the web is that it is home to all sorts of information. The not so great thing is that the information is scattered all over the web and worst of all, it can change from one day to another. The site that hosted the info you’re interested in could go down or it could take down that info. And this is where CaptureSaver comes in. It is a handy and easy to use tool that helps you collect information from the web, store it onto your computer and manage it as you see fit.

Getting CaptureSaver off the web and onto your computer is a speedy process; the 4.6MB download will complete rapidly. A setup wizard will take it from there and will guide you through the installation process of CaptureSaver. You can install CaptureSaver on computers powered by Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista and Windows 7. It must be mentioned here that, during the installation process, you are asked to provide your email address so that you can receive information from the developer of CaptureSaver, information on its products, tips and tricks, case studies and new release announcements. You can skip this step if you want to.

Once CaptureSaver is up and running, you can get down to business – the nice thing is that the well-structured, good looking interface makes it quite easy to figure out what CaptureSaver can do. There are nice big buttons to capture a webpage (only works with Internet Explorer), capture the text from an open window, take a screenshot, capture content to the clipboard, create URL series and import files. All the information you collect with CaptureSaver is kept in a database that is presented front and center in CaptureSaver’s interface. And speaking about information in the database, you can edit it, add tags and comments, add links and organize it in a free form hierarchical tree.

30 days is the amount of time you can use CaptureSaver for free. After this evaluation period is over, you will have to get a license to keep enjoying the exceptional functionality CaptureSaver has to offer.

Collect and manage information with ease by using CaptureSaver. It is a properly good information collection application.

Pros

You can change the way the interface looks by choosing different skins. The nice big buttons on the interface make it quite easy to use CaptureSaver. You can capture a webpage, take a screenshot, capture the text in an open video. The information you collect is kept in a database; you can edit this information. CaptureSaver can be used for free for a trial period of 30 days.

Cons

The “capture webpage” functionality only works with Internet Explorer.
